{New} Export-import segments and assignment rules between environments

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to show how you can export import segments and assignment rules between environments.

Let’s get’s started.

With the new features: Sales Managers and an Administrator need to set up assigment rules in multiple environments like sandbox, dev, test or production.

This increases the time taken to transfer rules from one environment to another and is prone to errors.

With this feature we can export your segments and assignment rules from one environment and import them into another environment easily.

1. Export segments and assigment rules from a source environment

2. Import segments and assigment rules to any target environment.

3. Update any environment specific data – for example User ID.

{How to} Complete work orders based on status on Dynamics 365 Field Service

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to show how to turn on the Status Completes Work Order = ON then Complete the work orders based on status on Dynamics 365 Field Service.

Let’s get’s started.

This new feature allows status driven approach to enhance flexibility in work order management.

Save time to duplicate work orders that require follow up by returning them to an unscheduled state after completing a booking.

Suppose a work order is completed and sub status of it will be “Completed”, then the work order will be in inactive state, So if there is a need to follow up then the frontline workers can make the work order to unscheduled state.

Then with the booking workflow ensures accurate work order statuses and simplifies the booking process.

It will be greater flexibility into the work order lifecycle, helping your booking data accurately reflect the work order status.

How to enable it?

1. Login into Dynamics 365 Field Service App

2. Then Resources > Booking Settings> Booking Status > Status Completes Work Order = ON

That’s it for today.

I hope this helps.

{ How to } Fill the gaps of the resource with Multi day view on Dynamics 365 Field Service Schedule Board

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to show how to view multi day view of the particular resource so that if there are any gaps for the resource can be quickly adjust resource for any bookings in between the resource gaps.

Let’s get’s started.

Resource availability and utilization with an updated multiday view.

On Multiday views on the scheduled board, you will have visibility of the duration in order accurately and you can quickly determine the availability and utilization of a bookable resource.

With this change, bookings on the daily and weekly and monthly views show proportional to their duration instead of stacked.

Multiday view significantly easier to see the availability of any resource from these views.

That’s it for today.

I hope this helps.

How to schedule single resource optimization when considering new requirements on Dynamics 365 Field Service

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to show how to optimize single resource when a resource completes a work order earlier than expected timelines.

Let’s get’s started.

Dispatchers schedule work orders but sometimes disruptions happens due to delay in resource being ontime at the site or may finishes the work order below the set time, so in that situations dispatches becomes unbalanced and causes disruptions to schedules.

How do we do that?

With the introducion of the Single Resource Optimization on Dynamics 365 Field Service Schedulers can reschedule the resources to optimization.

Distruptions or exceptions during the day that affects a resource’s schedule are fairly common:

1. A technician finishes a booking earlier than estimated, and now has idle time before the next booking.

2. A technician is stuck in traffic and can’t make it to the next booking on time.

3. A customer cancels an appointment at the last minute, and now there’s a gap in the resource’s schedule.

Dispatchers need an efficient way to fix such disruptions. This include re-optimizing bookings to make sure there’s no overlap, or to schedule new work to cover idle time, or to optimize travel time.

Note: Allow resource optimization to pull in additional requirements to fill gaps in the technician’s schedules, create a more optimized route or address high priority requirements.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service Break down long-duration or complex requirements

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to share new feature which Microsoft releases for Dynamics 365 Field Service Resource Scheduling so making the work items into smaller chunks.

Let’s get’s started.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service Resource Scheduling when working with long-duration or complex requirements, it’s often necessary to specify the patterns(sometimes called the work contour) for how the work will break down into the bookings when the requirement in scheduled.

Improve the experience for breaking down requirements into requirement details.

Key Improvements are:

1. Modernize the existing specify pattern control, improving performance and stability and aligining it with the new schedule board.

2. Allow bulk operations for requirment details, including the ability to bulk edit at various timesales.

3. Enable split and move operations to easily make updates as schedules and capabilities change.

That’s it for today.

I hope this helps.
